Yesterday at the end of my lesson my trainer gave me a course of only 3 jumps so that I had space to just ride between the jumps. She had me get off the horses back in galloping position and just send him on between jumps and collecting him 5-6 strides before the jump. My balance was right where it needed to be and it was so comfortable and relaxing between jumps. It was also nice that my muscles didn't get so fatigued between jumps that I was able to hold my position over jumps much better then I normally can by the end of my lesson.

You have become riding fit. It makes it all easier. I have known many riders who have kept this level of fitness up, to a diminishing degree of course with age, into their 70's and 80's. Fred Harris, Master of the Cazenovia Hunt bought a 4 year old 16.3 H TB off the track at 72. At 74 I watched him jump a weirdly downed tree in the woods that was near 6' on a crooked horizontal on that horse. Keep it up. You will need it to explore mastery.

Thanks. It's been a lot of hard work getting here and I plan to maintain it.
