One of the horses from the British Dressage team was retired from competition not long ago and they let him go out on quite a high note! Here is a video of his last performance. Valegro's Video

The part that is oddly interesting to me is that the video was 2/3 farewell ceremony. I struggle with the ideas around horses like the concept of "pet". Here we see "celebrity". I am not sure what to make of that.
After so many years of being with horses, I am trying to distil what it was all about for me. It's why I am caught in this horseness idea. It's a challenge for me to put celebrity and horseness together.
The lightness of this horse is impressive. Lightness is a physical feeling that is best felt in the saddle. Maybe this horse became a celebrity because he could give spectators a sense of that lightness without having to ride. I cannot think about horseness without thinking of being the rider.
