This horse is a type. I call them a "jumping fool". They are born with a compulsion to rush to a jump and go over it. They are not good for much except stadium jumping and all a rider needs to do is stay on. Back in the 1980's the grandson of the Chairman of the Mitsubishi corporate board rode one of these horses on the international Grand Prix circuit. This young Japanese rider was a lanky bean pole of a kid who, like the rider in the video, was taught to get his feet "back on the pegs" (motorcycle reference) and hang on. The horse would do the rest. It was embarrassing to watch him but he was having a ball flying around the world hob-knobbing with the elites of the equestrian world, as he performed looking to everyone else like a monkey on a circus horse. I did some research on the horse. The owner-rider was apparently offered a lot of money to sell him several times but always declined. Sad, we will never know how effective this horse really was except to win an local English riding club derby. Rich people are entitled to have their fun.

Yikes...aside from the terrible jumping form I could not imagine being that rider or that horse those are not small jumps whew....how does a rider like this even end up jumping at this level ...rich and elite or not that is just nuts.
